OUR STORY
Logo Explainer
To celebrate our Centennial with a unique logo, we began the design process by looking to our past. From the original seal of the 1960s, we found elements that reflect our rich heritage—values like knowledge, purpose, and character. This timeless mark reminded us of how much we've grown and the limitless future our students embody.
The result is the Ten-Pointed Sun, a modern reflection of our original seal. Symbolizing the right light for thriving growth, this shape represents how we continue to nurture each student in a balanced learning ecosystem. Torreys never stop growing—healthy, strong, and ready to shape the future.
FUTURE PAST
Our Centennial visual identity is inspired by the bold clarity of Bauhaus design—a pioneering movement of the 1920s, the same decade LJCDS was founded. But our design doesn’t just honor the past—it reimagines it.
The clean geometry, modular patterns, and purposeful simplicity of our logo and design system pay tribute to Bauhaus principles. Like Bauhaus, we believe creativity, innovation, and forward progress happen in the integration of disciplines.
Bauhaus blurred the lines between art, architecture, design, and craft—just as LJCDS breaks boundaries between traditional subjects, cultivating well-rounded leaders who learn to connect curiosity, identity, and purpose. Our Centennial design mirrors this mindset: structure and flexibility, tradition and innovation, past and future—all working together.
It’s more than a logo. It’s a visual language of growth, possibility, and human impact—rooted in where we began, and boldly reaching toward a remarkable future.
